Step 1: Just your bare eye. I like to prime mine with a shadow/eye primer. It helps the color last and helps with smudges, plus it gives your eyes a nice neutral base.
(Eye primer's: I like the NYC, E.L.F. brands from the drug store and Target and then I like the eye primer from Lancome, that would be one of your higher end brands)
Step 2: Take your liquid or cream eye liner, (those work the best for this look) draw a line that starts from the corner of your bottom lash line and pull it up.
- Side note: Some times it helps getting an even line if you gently pull the skin at the corner of your eye to make it smooth.
Step 4: Fill in the space between the lines. This is where using a gel or liquid liner really comes in handy.
Step 5: Work over the top of the line you drew to the middle of your eye, you want to build it up into a curved shape that fits your eyes and not keep a harsh line. Then pull the line into the inner corner of your eye, following along the natural curve of your eye. You want to keep the liner thin in the inner corner of your eye and thick on the outer.
Step 6: Fill in the line you created along the lash line and fix any mistakes. Make sure all the lines meet and match.
BONUS TIP!
Using a colored eye liner when doing this step eliminates the need for eye shadow and adds a bold different twist to the classic look.
Some fun colors and trends this season:
- Cobalt blue
- Gold
- Purple
- Teal
- Lime
- Brown
- NYC Liquid eye liner in black. The brush is an actual small hair brush, like a mini nail polish brush. It helps when filling and making lines.
- Maybline Line Stiletto in black. The tip of this one is felt but it never gets hard or dried out
- T.I.G.I BedHead khol liner in black. This product is a little harder to find, you can't buy it in a drug store or department store BUT the pencil lasts forever and the color is so vivid, it lasts forever too. A similar product I've found that resembles this pencil is from PIXI at Target, they have a 24 hour eye pencil and it's black is just as vivid as mine and last as long, however the Target pencil is more expensive then the Bed Head.
Now go try out your new liner look!
